Devoted to spreading the good news to children in the Philippines.
There is a real need for the loving hands of God in the ministry there which we started in April 2006. We have a very small Worship Center in a sub-division called Golden City, in the province of Dasmarinas , Cavite. We are ministering to as many as 14 to 20 people on any given day of worship and during our fellowship meetings. Which 1/3 are children ages 2 months to 16 years. But there is a problem with our small space where we meet to worship! We are growing in the number of people who are coming to worship so we are out growing our Worship Center.
Meeting financial needs for the families we minister to.
We pray that we can meet the serious need for financial assistance in most all of the families that we minister to. Also as for the welfare of the children, there is on an average of 4 to 6 people in a family sharing the living space in a house totaling only 190 Square Feet! That is against all of the National Health Codes here in the US! There is also a need for assistance with their education. Most can’t even afford to pay for the extra materials necessary for the little projects in the schools curriculum that the teachers give the students to do.
Searching for a location
We are looking at the need for an Orphanage in the Dasmarinas province. There are at least two sights where an orphanage could be started with the necessary funding. We already have a location where there is a building large enough to house the children that we could have to care for if we had the space. The initial cost of this property would be $30,000.00!
It would accommodate as many as 4 to 6 Girls and Boys which would make a total of 12 children. Then naturally there would be a staff of at least 4 adults to help educate and care for the children. We plan to make adoptions available through the proper government channels, to good loving God fearing families. The house and property has lots of room for expansion in the future. We know that with God as our guide, that there will be a true need to enlarge the facility with in at least two to three years.
The other location that we have available to us would be to purchase of a piece of property in the squatter area where we could construct an Orphanage. Which in a lot of ways would be better because we could build it to suit the needs and incorporate all of the necessary bathing areas that will be needed, as well as solar water heaters so there is more then cool water to wash clothes and dishes as well as bathing? I say this because there are very few water faucets with two handles there in the Philippines. The only hot or warm water comes from heating it on the stove. Water heaters aren't even thought of there! You won't even find them in commercial or government buildings. Maybe you would find a hot shower in some fancy tourist resorts. But most commonly all you will have to bath in is cool water from the faucet, and for the most part you will dip it out of a bucket or barrel and pour it over yourself to shower. That is the most common way for all of the people throughout the islands to bathe.
